Upton are through to the Herald cup semi finals after a fine win against a battling waldon side who never gave up. lee chamberlain had a good chance to put upton ahead but was off balance when he shot straight at john howes in the waldon goal and his follow up was cleared for a corner. upton did get the break through on 7 mins when a right wing corner was slotted home by dan kingscote at the far post. upton had a couple chances to increasse their lead and on 15 mins darren bastow made it 2-0 from the penalty spot after lee chamberlain was brought down by the waldon keeper. should of been 3-0 on 25 mins when andrew walker broke clear and rounded the waldon keeper only to be foiled by the keeper making a desperate lunge.waldon battled well and never gave up and for the last 15 mins had most of the play but failed to make it count

Second half started well for Upton who were determined to kill the game off and on 53 mins dan kingscote got his second of the match (3-0) and 3 mins later could of had his hatrick after ryan little crossed and dan helped it on only to see it come back off the post. on 65 mins dan did get his hatrick after ian bastow tried to lob the waldon keeper only for the keeper to fumble the ball into the path of the advancing dan kingscote. louis bergin had a half chance before a fine run down the right wing from steve northcott found ryan little who bundled the ball over the line to make it 5-0. upton had chances to score more but failed to convert any.
very well reffed by mr hammon and based on his performance today should get a big final.
